What To Do If You Get Those Afternoon Sweet Cravings!

Something I figured out over the years is planning my meals around my cravings. So, for a while I had two craving times during the day. Usually at about 11am, not too long after breakfast and at about 5pm, close but not quite at dinner time.
For soooo long, I would have these cravings and not allow myself to give in. Instead I would just pick at foods. If I desperately wanted a cookie, I’d just pick at little bits or I’d pick at leftovers, bits and pieces of snacks, but never actually having just a whole snack. (So, really I ended up eating more in ‘picks’ than if I’d just had an actual sweet piece).
But I figured it out.
After breakfast, if I was craving something sweet I would literally just have a cookie or some chocolate or a few oreos. And cool, I’m done, craving averted and I can get back to my work. And I had an extremely enjoyable 5 minutes.
At 5pm, right when I would get home from work, again another craving. Could I last till dinner? No. Again, picking at things or I would just have so much dinner because I thought I was dying of starvation.
Again I figured it out. I would come home from work and immediately have and icecream. Cured my craving, made me happy and then an hour later I got to have a whole meal.
Fabuloso
You just have to find out what works for you. Don’t deprive yourself of sweets at 7pm if that’s what you really want. Schedule it in, have some, and then stop. This prevents overeating and binging and having no self- control. Trust me, it is definitely more fun just including sweets into your everyday life like fruits and veggies.
